Facial Surgery Charity Bike Ride

Hi,

I am fine, how are you. I have taken out the web link so this might get through. Can you circulate it, we urgently need some cyclists. We are very very short of numbers so the more the merrier. They don't have to pay to register, but it would be nice if they could raise some money for us from their friends, work colleagues etc. Here is the info. Do you think anyone would do it?

SAVING FACES IS 10 YEARS OLD!

As part of our celebrations, please join us for a Fun Sponsored Bike Ride.
When   Saturday June 26th 2010. We’ll be there between 10am and 4pm.
Where  TRL is a private forested road circuit near Wokingham, Berks. Access is easy from the M3 and the M4. TRL’s roads are wide and quite flat, and we’ll have the place all to ourselves. Here’s the postcode: RG40 3GA.
Who     Everyone is welcome – all ages, and all abilities – so do bring your friends, family and cheerleaders too!
Why     Saving Faces funds internationally important education and research in Face Surgery. Every year in the UK around 5,000 ordinary people will develop an oral cancer. 15,000 people will receive treatment for facial disfigurement. The numbers are growing fast: last year 125,000 young people sustained facial injuries after a night out.
Without your help, we cannot fund education and research.

With your help, people with facial disfigurement can face the world.
How far     You can set your own time, or your own distance. Once round the circuit is about 1 mile. You’ll need to bring your own bikes. You don’t need to be a Lance Armstrong – even I will be attempting to cycle 50 miles!

How         Register at www.Savingfaces.co.uk

Refreshments    We’re providing free soft drinks, fresh fruit and nutrition bars. Why not bring a picnic, too?

Entertainment    There’ll be a marquee and a bouncy castle.

Every year we need £550,000 just to fund our existing education and research projects.
I, and many of my colleagues, work for free.
Our administration costs are tiny.
The need for Saving Faces work is huge, and growing.
So, thank you for every penny of help you give Saving Faces.

3 OCT 2010 - Clarendon Marathon, Half Marathon & Relay Race

Dear hasher, Make sure you don' t miss out on this opportunity to take part on this annual event .
Yes once again the Clarendon Full / Half / Relay (mixed teams of 4) marathon 3rd October 2010
, which is now in its 13th year, welcomes Winchester HHH and all other hashers, runners and joggers alike.

This scenic, exciting, challenging, popular, multi-terrain event from Salisbury and Broughton to Winchester follows the historic course between the two cities.
As well as using flour markings to mark the course to make you feel at home, but no false trails or fish hooks, this is the only event known to give recognition to Hashers in a regular race by giving prizes to 1/2/3 male / female hashers in both the full and half marathon as well as 1/2/3 hash relay teams in the relay event.
Transport & massage available.
Sponsors:- Waitrose, Shentons Solicitors , UpandRunning Southampton & Asics. T-shirts or medals & Asics goody bags to all finishers. £1000's of donations from the proceeds are made each year to many charities in acknowledgement for peoples help many of whom are yourselves. To name but a few these are :-
Rotary Club of Winchester, Fire Services Charity, Mencap, Macmillan Cancer Releif, Help for Heroes, Cystic fibrosis (HMF), British Heart Foundation, Parkinsons Disease, Naomi House, Asthma UK, BOAZ Project, several scout groups, Wessex Cancer Trust, NSPCC to name but a few .
i.e. the more entries there are the more donations can be made. The help and support received from the hash friends and colleagues is very important and very much appreciated to make this event a success.  But of course there are still a few spaces and time left for Hash teams and individuals to enter.  Entry forms and more information can be found on www.clarendon-marathon.co.uk or
speak to Paul (a.k.a. Ram) (pelderkin@yahoo.co.uk or 01962 622465)
